Henry Ford Museum: Don't Miss These Top 8 Must-See's

Henry Ford Museum | By Sherry Trautman | Traveling Michigan

Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation is a spectacular museum brimming with presidential vehicles, towering trains, futuristic homes, agriculture machines, musical instruments and so much more!

Located in Dearborn, Michigan, the Henry Ford is a perfect museum for both adults and children!

Henry Ford Museum: Know Before Your Go

Location: 20900 Oakwood Blvd, Dearborn, MI 48124

I feel it's important to clarify that The Henry Ford encompasses 4 unique and separate attractions:

  1. Henry Ford Museum-inside exhibits
  2. Greenfield Village-outdoor and indoor exhibits spreading across 80 acres
  3. Ford Rouge Factory Tour-self guided tour
  4. Giant Screen Experience-numerous movies are featured daily

The Henry Ford has package pricing so you can maximize your dollar if you plan to visit more than one attraction during your visit.

Insider Tips: I wouldn't try to do too much or you won't be able to immerse and enjoy each exhibit to its fullest.  Possibly combine the Henry Ford Museum (takes around 3 hours) with the Ford Rouge Factory Tour for a full day of fun.  In my opinion, trying to tackle the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in one day is way too much.

Parking: Get there early as parking can be tricky late morning.

Must-See Exhibits at the Henry Ford Museum

  • Prepare to be wowed as you walk past sleek presidential vehicles and read about their bullet proof glass.
  • Climb aboard towering trains and pretend you are on an epic journey across vast lands.
  • See the Rosa Parks Bus that was restored by the Henry Ford Museum.
  • Read about how steam engines work.
  • Witness the finest American collection of agriculture equipment. See the Fordson Tractor and Sperry-New Holland Combine
  • See the house of the future!
  • Wright Brothers Shop
  • Lincoln Chair

There is much to do and explore! I'd plan at least 3 hours to fully immerse in this museum.

Food at the Henry Food Museum

Spots to eat include:

  • Lamy's Diner
  • Concession Stand
  • Michigan Cafe

Consider package pricing if you are interested in visiting more than one location.  It's definitely a better value.
