I LOVE Michigan farm experiences so much and this one is top notch.  I had the best time!  At Blakes Lavender Festival you can shop over 200 artisan booths, hear live music, ride a cute train to the lavender fields, sip chilled lavender ice tea or lemonade, pluck ripe raspberries or cherries from their u pick farm, coo to the adorable alpacas, pick fragrant lavender, and just plain relax and enjoy the day with family or friends. So many fun things to do at this Armada lavender festival!

Sounds like a perfect day? It is.

Shop the Artisan Booths at Blakes Lavender Festival

There are over 200 artisan booths offering handmade soaps, tasty dips, woodwork, honey products, jewelry, and more! There's live lavender plants for sale.

I LOVED the dresses, t-shirts and altered clothing offered at several artisan booths during Blake's Lavender Festival at Blake's Orchard and Cider Mill.  It's really a great place to buy clothing.  This year I purchased a lovely crocheted tank top in a burnt orange color.  I love it! Of course, there's all things lavender too.

Love on the Alpacas!

I just love alpacas and the cute sounds they make.  These guys were just adorable and so sweet! I'm in love with any animals, but these cute alpacas have my heart.

Great Spots for Selfies!

Cute spots to take selfies are located throughout the festival space.

Food Trucks, Hard Cider and Where to Eat at This Armada Lavender Festival

There's several spots to eat while at this Michigan lavender festival.  There are food trucks across the property. Plus there's the Graze Farm Kitchen and other covered areas to eat.

  • I got an absolutely fabulous salad with fruit, chicken and a lavender salad dressing that was to die for.  I am always impressed with the quality of super fresh food during Blakes Lavender Festival.  My friend Jenny got a hot dog, fries and a yummy lavender themed pastry that was awesome...she might have shared a bite!

Blake’s Hard Cider Co. and Blake’s Brewing Co. will be featuring their limited, seasonal lavender infused hard cider and beer too. I got a glass and it's fantastic. Other beverages are located at food trucks and stands across the property. So don't worry, you won't die of thirst or starve!

  • We loved the lavender lemonade!

Blake's Tasting Room

HOT TIP: If you want to visit the tasting room, I suggest heading there first thing as the wait was over 2.5 hours by early afternoon during the festival.  Or put your name in and spend the day at the Lavender festival while you wait for your spot in Blake's Tasting Room.

Blake's Lavender Market

There are several buildings at Blake's Lavender Market offering all things lavender!

  • Mugs, shirts, blankets, home décor and more. Plus, the market has super fresh vegetables such as cabbages, cauliflower, sweet corn, tomatoes and so much more!

It's a perfect stop before heading to your car.

Check out Blake's Cider Mill at the Lavender Festival

I'm excited to visit Blake's Cider Mill this fall to see it all in action! I absolutely LOVE fresh cider and donuts!

U Pick Lavender, Fruits and Vegetables at Blake's Apple Barn in Armada

  • We had a BLAST picking sugar peas, red raspberries, black raspberries, tart cherries, jalapeno peppers, banana peppers and strawberries! You can also pick Lodi apples which are green apples and eggplants.

TIP #1: You will need to drive your car along the dirt road to each of the fields so it's best to do this after the lavender festival as you will loose your parking space. Plus you don't want to keep your vegetables inside a hot car for several hours while at Blake farms lavender festival.

They will give you boxes at the beginning of the dirt trail leading to the picking area.  Pick what you like and then pay for it all on the way back out.

TIP #2: Bring a cooler for your fresh vegetables and anything else you buy at the festival.  Glazed items like donuts or lavender bread will need the coolness of your ice packs. Also freshly picked lavender will thrive better in a cool environment.

TIP #3: You can also u pick cabbages and broccoli. Be sure to bring a knife or cutting tool to cut the cabbages and broccoli free from their thick stems.

There are porta johns along the road in the fields.

TIP #4: Wear (or bring) OLD SHOES and a plastic bag to put them in after you are finished picking!  The picking areas can be muddy.
