We had a Blast Picking Blueberries at Russell's Blueberry Farm in Freeland, Michigan

This lovely blueberry farm located in Freeland Michigan has 22 acres of blueberries and 11 different varieties!

Plus, Russell's blueberry farm is run by veterans which I love supporting. I had the pleasure of speaking with Laura Russell Varhola, the owner of this blueberry farm located in the heart of Michigan.

She and her husband retired from the military and decided to take over the farm from her elderly father.

It was one heck of a learning curve as she learned all about fertilizer, planting, driving a tractor, managing student pickers, working with the community and all the ins and outs of running a blueberry business!

Laura works hard to hire workers from the local high schools to teach the younger generation about the blueberry farming business and to develop a strong work ethic.

This lovely blueberry farm is located on a gorgeous pond and gardens, so come on out and pick their incredibly delicious blueberries!

Grange Fruit Farms

We just discovered Grange Fruit Farms in Rockford, Michigan (north of Grand Rapids).

I just adore this pink chair, isn't it fabulous?!!!  I'm dying to have one of the Michigan Adirondack chairs on my front porch!

They have peaches, plums, nectarines, pears and blueberries for u pick and a lovely farm stand with everything from corn to melons.  It's a lovely Michigan farm!

OMG! Are these not the most beautiful cherries you have ever seen?! My friend and I toured Traverse City, Sutton's Bay and Charlevoix last week and were THRILLED to discover cherries were in season! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Looks like MI is about 4 weeks behind in our produce. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We about lost our minds as we passed these gorgeous cherry trees on our way to Charlevoix. I'm SUPER EMBARRASSED to admit I have never been in the Traverse City area when cherries were blooming. WOW WOW WOW!!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We stopped at several roadside stands and picked up pints of tart cherries...tonight I'm making a cherry crisp....I will post a pic (and the recipe if it's good!). I'll be making it as healthy as possible with oat and coconut flour. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #visitcharlevoix #charlevoix #charlevoixmichigan #traversecitytourism #traversecity #cherries#pieinmyfuture #traversecitymi #traversecitymichigan #cherries #cherrytrees #Michigan #puremichigan #michigantravel #greatlakesstate #michiganstate #travelingmichigan #greatlakesstateofmind #puremittenpride #lovemichigan #michiganders #exploremichigan #puremittigan #northernmichigan #greatlakesstate #greatlakesstateofmind #greatlakeslocals ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #midwestmoment #michiganders #onlyinmichigan
