Throughout the late summer and fall months of August, September and October, orchards and farms host wildly popular Michigan apple festivals to celebrate their annual harvest. So many great fall festivals in Southwest Michigan, Northwest Michigan, Central Michigan and Southeast Michigan.

1. 8th Annual Cider Dayze Festival at Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill | Armada (Michigan's Thumb)


Annual Cider Dayze Festival August 26th & 27th, 2023

8th Annual Cider Dayze Festival Location: Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill, 17985 Armada Center Rd, Armada, Michigan. Located in Southeast Michigan, north of Detroit. Get your tickets early!

Beer, games like giant Jenga, sample beer from 50 craft breweries, cideries, wineries! Their caramel hard cider is my absolute favorite! Oh and there will be food trucks and BBQ galore! Enjoy live music, silent disco and more!



The beer stein holding contest is a HUGE crowd pleaser at Blake's Annual Cider Dayze Festival!  It's so much harder than it looks, you gotta try it for bragging rights!

2. 2023 Art & Apples Festival (Rochester Apple Festival)

2023 Art & Apples Festival is Friday, September 8, 2023: 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 10, 2023: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Event is FREE.

Art & Apples Festival Location: Rochester Municipal Park

Since 1965, the Art & Apples Festival is one of the nation’s top fine art fairs, with 200+ fine art exhibitors.  Grab lunch from the food trucks, enjoy stage entertainment and art demonstrations, and stop by the numerous art activity stations over the three-day weekend.

  • A free shuttle bus to the festival and free parking is available on Saturday (9 am – 8 pm) and Sunday (9 am – 4:30 pm) from the Rochester High School located at 1361 Walton Blvd.

Are Pets Allowed? Pets are not allowed in the park during the Art & Apples Festival.


3. Apple and BBQ Cook-off Festival | Silver Lake in West Michigan

Apple and BBQ Cook-off Festival - September 8 - 9, 2023 Silver Lake Sand Dunes. 

Location: This fun fall event takes place at Golden Township Park near downtown Silver Lake

  • Apple pie contest, fresh apple market and craft show, Apple A Day 5k run, festival food, beer tent, live entertainment, children’s activities, and so much more!

Oh and don't miss the smoked barbeque cookoff from the masters, shopping, and classic autos and ORVs!

4. 2023 Coldwater Apple Fest & Craft Show in South Michigan

Apple Fest & Craft Show, hosted by Coldwater Recreation is on Saturday, September 16, 2023, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Location: Historic Downtown Coldwater

Enjoy over 100 vendors gathered in Historic Downtown Coldwater, MI to sell their crafts, apples, and food! Apple Fest features apples and apple-themed items. The event is FREE to the public.


5. Fall Fest Weekends at Pond Hill Farms- Get Fresh Apple Cider | Harbor Springs, Northwest Michigan


Fall Fest Weekends - September 23 and 30, 2023 and October 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 28, 29, 2023.

6. Ciderfest & Craft Show at Diehl's Orchard and Cider Mill | Holly Michigan

Ciderfest & Craft Show in Holly Michigan is September 23th and 24th, 2023. 9am – 6pm

The Ciderfest Run is Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 8:00am

Location: Diehl's Orchard and Cider Mill in Holly, Michigan. 

Enjoy free parking, hayrides, finding your own pumpkin in the pumpkin patch, pony rides, petting farm/zoo, haypile, crafts, and lots of family fun things to do!  Get a plate of delicious Hog Wild BBQ, too.  There will be free balloon creations and face painting (Sunday only).

At the Ciderfest Craft Show, be sure to check out the vendors selling everything from homemade crafts and jewelry to local produce and baked goods. You can even enjoy a delicious cup of fresh apple cider while you shop!

The Ciderfest & Craft Show is the perfect way to enjoy a beautiful fall day in Holly, Michigan!


7. Uncle John's Cider Mill Fall Festival | St Johns (Just North of Lansing)


Uncle John's Cider Mill Fall Festival is September 24, 30 and October 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22, 2023.

Location: 8614 North, US-127, St Johns, MI 48879

Enjoy Corn Maze, Kids Train, Pumpkin Patch, Gemstone Mining, and Farm Trail.  Shop the store, ‍Cider Mill, Gift Shop and Bakery

And of course, grab a hard apple cider in their taproom!



Chris and I love watching apples being turned into delicous apple cider at Uncle John's Cider Mill. You can watch the entire process from their viewing platform. 



Seriously, could you pass up these delicious hand dipped caramel apples? Soooo yummy!


8. St. John's Applefest | Fenton - Southeast Michigan

St. John's 51st Applefest is September 14-17, 2023

Michigan Apple Harvest Festival is September 15-16, 2023 located in downtown Sparta, MI, this festival is so much fun! Come out for lumberjack show, apple sling shot, poker run on the Harvest Hay Ride, kids activities, petting zoo, fireworks, food trucks, live music and more! 

Location: Events are at both the Town Square and Balyeat Field

But what about the apples?  Well, there will be an apple peeling contest and both kids and adults apple pie eating contests!!


10. Four Flags Area Apple Festival - (Niles Apple Festival) in Southwest Michigan

Four Flags Area Niles Apple Festival is September 28 – October 1, 2023. Thursday: PM – 10 PM, Friday: 3 PM – 11 PM, Saturday: 8 AM – 11 PM, Sunday: 8 AM – 6 PM.

Niles Apple Festival Location: 1740 Lake St, Niles, MI 49120

So guys, if you love everything apple, come on out to the Niles Apple Festival!  Don't miss the Grand Parade on Saturday! It's a 5 mile parade route beginning in downtown Niles at 1:30 pm and ending at the Niles High School.

There's carnival rides, games, food and entertainment for everyone! Gorge on apple pastries, apple cookies, apple pies, apple cider so so much more! Every guest will get a free apple!


11. Charlevoix's Applefest-Art Fair, Apple Pie Eating Contests, Fresh Apple Cider in Northern Michigan!

Location: Downtown Charlevoix: East Park, Mason Street. Northwest Michigan.

44th Annual Charlevoix's Applefest, October 13-15, 2023, Fri & Sat 10 am-6 pm, Sun 10 am-4 pm. Experience the magic of autumn in northern Michigan! 

Come on out for fresh apple cider from local farms, live music, balloon animals, arts and craft shows, kids crafts, apple pie eating contests and so much more! Oh, and their petting zoo is soooo cute!  Pet goats, sheep, cows and other fuzzy animals!

12. Boyne City Harvest Festival | Northwest Michigan

Boyne City Harvest Festival is September 30, 2023,  8am-3pm.

Boyne City’s Harvest Festival is held in downtown Boyne City! You can enjoy live music, crafts, and fall produce galore!

  • The Boyne City Farmers Market is on Water and Lake Streets from 8am-12pm and will offer a wide variety of apples and other harvest items including pumpkins, squash, apple butter, jam, honey, and cider. 

The Boyne City Harvest Festival also includes folk art demonstrations, children’s games, hay rides, and a scarecrow-making contest.


13. Huron Township Apple Festival | New Boston (Detroit Region)

Huron Township Applefest is October 7, 2023 - October 8, 2023  

Applefest Hours is Saturday, 9:00 am – 8:00 pm and Sunday, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Location: 37283 Huron River Drive, New Boston, Michigan

Come down to New Boston for apple pie contests, live music, bingo, petting farm, bounce houses dancers, and general apple fun. 

35th Annual Fiddler Contest, Saturday, Oct 7th at 3pm located at 37283 Huron River Drive, New Boston, Michigan at the Outdoor Applefest Stage.

Applefest Parade is Saturday, Oct 7th at 1pm. Line-up begins at 11am at Lower Huron Metropark near the Waltz Rd entrance.

14. 44th Annual Apple Festival 2023 at Kapnick Orchards (Southeast Michigan) | Britton (South of Ann Arbor)

Kapnick Orchards' 44th  Annual Apple Festival 2023 is October 14 - October 15, 2023

HOT TIP: Kapnick Orchards Apple Festival is held in conjunction with Tecumseh's Appleumpkin Festival (listed below).

See how apple cider is made while watching apples being pressed! Enjoy delicious caramel apples as they are made fresh to order, choose from 7 flavors of their famous fry cake donuts, homemade pumpkin rolls and apple fritters.

Pick your own apples & pumpkins at the Annual Apple Festival. Chat with their adorable farm animals and take a wagon ride through the orchard.  Their craft show with over 80 booths has lots of gifts and fun items! Oh, and there's food galore! Enjoy elephant ears, bratwurst, French fries and more.


15. 29th Annual Appleumpkin Festival | Tecumseh (Southeast Michigan)


Appleumpkin Festival is October 14 - October 15, 2023, Saturday Hours: 9am-6pm and Sunday Hours: 10am-5pm. 

HOT TIP: Tecumseh's Appleumpkin Festival is held in conjunction with Kapnick Orchards Apple Festival (listed above).

Location: Downtown Tecumseh, MI, Tecumseh, Lenawee County

The fall season is a magical time in Michigan, and one of the most anticipated events is the Appleumpkin Festival in Tecumseh, MI. This fun festival celebrates all things autumn, from apple cider to pumpkin pie, crafts, live entertainment, and a pumpkin parade.

The Appleumpkin festival draws thousands of visitors from across the state. Here are some fun things to do at the Appleumpkin Festival:

  1. The Antique Street Fair and Flea Market - So much fun!

Happy Apple Days - Traverse City is October 2023 TBD

Location: Downtown Traverse City

Stop by participating stores and receive a free apple! (While supplies last) Apples are provided by Youker Farms of Grawn, MI. There will also be fall sales during this weekend.

Cider and Donut Festival is September 9, 10, 2023. Saturday and Sunday -  10am-5pm.

Come on out this weekend for outdoor shopping, family entertainment, and yummy donuts and cider from one of the best cider mills in Michigan, Yates Cider Mill!

There will be lots of Michigan-made gifts, Michigan hard ciders, and food choices. Enjoy live music, free kids games and bounce houses, a petting zoo, contests, vendors, and more fun.


19. Crane’s CiderFest Celebration | Fennville


Crane’s CiderFest Celebration is September 9, 2023, 12pm – 5pm.

Fennville, MI 49408 

Come on out to Crane's CiderFest Celebration at the beautiful walnut grove at Crane Orchards.  It will be a fun filled day with delicious cider and apple-related everything! Sip on refreshing, crisp ciders and wine, enjoy pies of all kinds, apple cider donuts, and other delicious treats. Crane's homemade foods along with Smokin' Joe's BBQ food truck will be available for purchase! Enjoy listening to local musicians on the orchard stage all day long.
