Pack your bags my friends, it's vacation time!  These 6 Top-Rated Michigan Vacation Spots are our personal favorite places to go when we want to get away, ignore social media and spend time together.  We hope to inspire your next Michigan getaway!

Houghton Michigan (Upper Peninsula) is an Explorers Paradise!

My friends, if you love messy hair, don't care weekends, Houghton Michigan is your jam (well, it's mine, anyway!).  I mean, you can get dirty hiking, take oodles of photos, tour mines, shop, and eat yourself silly all weekend long. What's not to love about that?

Wagner Falls (Upper Peninsula) is a Must-See Destination!

Wagner Falls is a spectacular must-see waterfall located in Munising, Michigan.  It is one of our absolutely favorite places to stop when we are headed to Houghton, Michigan to visit Chris' mom.

The roar of the rapids is so calming and picturesque, you've gotta see it for yourself!

Plus, getting there is half the fun!  Don't forget to look up as you wander along a spectacular boardwalk that takes you through a very picturesque forest.  Look for forest critters along the way!

Mackinac Island is a Dream Michigan Vacation!

Mackinac Island is a go-to vacation hot spot for so many adventure loving people when visiting our lovely state! It is honestly one of our favorite places in the world! We are super lucky as we live quite close and just pop over and back in a day!

Just in case you aren't familiar with this spectacular island, it's a place where you can relax, exercise and reset after a busy week at work. No vehicles are allowed on the island so you can rent (or bring your own) bikes, walk or take a horse drawn carriage to explore the island. Here's more about Mackinac Island!

Alpena Michigan is a Hidden Gem!

Alpena Michigan is such a Michigan hidden gem!

Did you know there are several hundred shipwrecks near Alpena?  You can take a glassbottom boat tour and see two or three real shipwrecks!

Is fossil hunting your jam?  Rockport State Park is home to fossil hunting and is also a dark sky park!!

Plus, you can kayak, hike, swim and explore so many areas in Alpena!

Love to eat and wine taste?  Alpena's restaurants and wineries will surprise and delight you!

Make plans to visit this fantastic region this summer!

Explore East Tawas! Outstanding Beach, Shopping and Hiking!

Tawas Michigan is home to fantastic camping at the Tawas State Park, exploring birding trails, water sports, wandering the marina, shopping and so much more!  Rent a house, camp or reserve a hotel to explore this fantastic area.

Our favorite things to do in Tawas include grabbing a yummy Pronto Pup and wandering the marina.  From there, we always head to the State Park to photograph the gorgeous lighthouse, walk the beach and grab lunch under the umbrellas.

East Tawas is close to Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City and Midland Michigan for a full week of fun and adventures!

St. Joseph is a Haven for Boating, Beaches, Lighthouses and Shopping!

St. Joseph is home to our favorite pier and lighthouse.  Life doesn't get any better than strolling along the picturesque pier, wind in your hair and sun on your skin while watching jet skiers jump the waves and gorgeous boats meandering down the channel.

Exquisite Waterfalls and Nature Improves Your Well-being!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ~⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Wagner Falls is located south of Munising, on the east side of MI-94 just south of the MI-28/MI-94 junction. There is a small parking area and a sign.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ~⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I put on a pair of hiking boots as the parking area is always muddy. There is a beautiful well maintained boardwalk that meanders through a lovely forest and leads to the falls. Plan to spend about 45 minutes there. Take note, there are no restrooms. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #Wagnerfalls #waterfallwednesday #InspiredTravelCouples #Michigan #puremichigan #greatlakesstate #travelingmichigan #michiganders #waterfalls #michiganaddict #michigander #onlyinmichigan #exploremichigan #michiganoverboard #puremittenpride #greatlakesproud #michiganphotographer #michiganmade #ig_awescapes #ipulledoverforthis #michiganwaterfalls #explore_destinations #wanderful #thegreatlakesstate #onlyinmichigan #greatlakesloving #michiganunsalted #getoutside #adventure #puremichigan
