Frankenmuth is such a vibrant Bavarian town in Michigan!  You can wander for hours, sample delicious treats, be awed by the beauty of the area without spending a bunch of your hard earned money.

10 Free Things To Do Frankenmuth

  1. Stroll across the iconic Bavarian Inn Holz Brücke Covered Bridge!  It's super fun to cross the bridge just as the Bavarian Bell paddle wheel boat glides by below.  But be prepared as when they blow their horn, you might jump!
  2. Watch the Glockenspiel clock tower as it tells the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin at 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 p.m.  Enjoy the ornate characters as they spin and speak!
  3. Watch delectable fudge being made or taffy being pulled on Main Street.
  4. Pop into cheese and sausage shops on Main Street and taste a variety of samples. Which are your favorites?
  5. Tour the city's founding church, St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  Photograph the beautiful windows!
  6. Wander through the Bavarian Inn and Zehnders to read about their history, check out the paintings on the walls and just explore the beautiful buildings!.
  7. Frankenmuth Brewery: Check out their shop and see the brewing tanks
  8. Wander along the Cass River bank near Heritage Park-very peaceful summer and winter! Watch the tour boats glide by.
  9. Sit on one of the benches facing Main Street near the Bavarian Inn and people watch!  Very fun to sit on these benches during the Auto Fest.  It's like a parade of muscle cars revving their engines to show off to the crowds!
  10. Snap your pic next to the giant cheese and mouse statue in front of the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus.  There are lots of other photo opportunities-go find your favorites!

BONUS IDEA: Wander through Bronner's and be wowed by the thousands of Christmas ornaments!

Zehnder's Snowfest was a blast yet again this year! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I absolutely adore seeing people create their craft! And I certainly wasn't disappointed...these artists were hardcore! The weather was excruciatingly cold, around 11 degrees, yet there were out there carving, chopping and grinding these monster chunks of ice into submission.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I spoke to one carver just before I left and he told me he created a huge swan in 2018 and FIVE MINUTES before judging his entire sculpture shattered due to higher temps. Can you imagine the disappointment???⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #frankenmuth #frankenmuthmichigan #seefrankenmuth #puremichigan #waterwheel #Michigan #greatlakesstate #travelingmichigan #michiganders #monday #mondaymood #mondayinspiration #zehnderssnowfest #getoutside #photooftheday #traveling #adventureislife #travel #travelphotography #icesculptures #winter #letswinter #thegreatlakesstate #onlyinmichigan #greatlakesloving ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #michiganunsalted #michiganaddict #onlyinmichigan #mittenlove #snowfestimpressions @zehnders
