What is the Largest Michigan County Fair?

We've been researching this and have determined that Allegan County Fair and Monroe County Fairs are a couple of Michigan's Largest & Best County Fairs!


What is the Longest Running Fair in Michigan?

The longest running fair in Michigan is Lenawee County Fair that began in 1839!!  Established in 1855, Michigan's Berlin Fair is the second longest running fair in the state! Pretty amazing, isn't it?


What is the oldest county fair in Michigan?

The Calhoun County Fair in Marshall, Michigan is Michigan's oldest continuous running fair. Per Wikipedia, the Calhoun County Fair was first held in 1839. Due to Covid-19, the fair was cancelled in 2020, the first time since 1848.

Allegan County Fair- (at the county fairgrounds) - September 8-16, 2023, 150 Allegan County Fair Dr, Allegan. Incredible big name concerts!  This is one of our favorite Michigan Fairs! Get tickets early!

Ann Arbor Art Fair/Ann arbor street art fair - July 20-22, 2023

Art in the Sun and Maker's Mart at Arts and Acts, This Northville art fair is June 16-18, 2023, near the Art House at 2015 W. Cady Street, Northville, MI. Three fairs, one celebration. Arts and Acts features fine artisans and crafters from Michigan and across the country held the third weekend of June in historic Downtown Northville. Friday, 3-8pm; Saturday 10-8pm and Sunday 10-3pm.

Art In The Park, Plymouth, Michigan. This Plymouth Mi Art Fair is July 7, 8, & 9 2023. Friday 11:00am – 8:00pm, Saturday 10:00am – 7:00pm, Sunday 10:00am – 5:00pm. A signature Michigan event, Art In The Park welcomes over 400 artists with fabulous paintings, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber, glass, woodwork, photography, folk art & much more.

Berrien County Youth Fair - August 14-19, 2023, 9122 M-139, Berrien Springs. OH my gosh, we've been to this fair so many times it's crazy! I created art to show here as a teenager too!  Fantastic barns filled with art, flowers, food and crafts.  Tractor pulls, circus, demolition derby, bullmania! See farm animals and grab an elephant ear in the midway! This is one of our favorite Michigan Fairs!

Charlevoix Waterfront Art Fair, East Park Downtown Charlevoix,
August 12, 2023, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. This lovely waterfront art fair is located in East Park in downtown Charlevoix.  The Waterfront Art Fair is the second oldest juried art fair in Michigan. See more things to do in Charlevoix!

Cheboygan County Fair, August 5 - 12, 2023, 204 E Lincoln Ave, Cheboygan. This is one of the most fantastic Michigan Fairs! Demolition derby, monster trucks, goats, carnival rides and carnival treats! Gates open from 8 AM to 11 PM.

Chelsea Community Fair, August 22 -26, 2023, 20501 Old US 12, Chelsea, MI. Demolition derby, tractor pulls, rodeo, carnival rides and carnival treats!

Clare County Fair, July 24-29, 2023, 418 Fairlane, Harrison, MI. Welcome to one of the oldest fairs in Michigan! Concerts, rides, farm animals and more!

Detroit Fairs - Wayne County Fair - July 31, 2023 - August 5, 2023.  at Wayne County Fairgrounds - 10871 Quirk Rd. Belleville, MI  48111. Eastern Michigan State Fair- July 25-29, 2023, This popular Imlay City fair is located at 195 Midway, Imlay City. Demolition derby, oval track racing, figure 8 racing, bump-n-run, bull rodeo, midway games and rides, and much more!  Eastern Michigan State Fair is at the top of Michigan fairs!  Check it out this summer!

Eaton County Fair - July 9-15, 2023, (Eaton County Fairgrounds),  Eaton County 4-H Fair, 1025 S Cochran, Charlotte MI

Emmet Charlevoix County Fair (County of Emmet Fair), August 22-27, 2023, 1129 Charlevoix Ave, Petoskey MI. Get your grandstand tickets early! 

East Lansing Art Festival - The 2023 East Lansing Art Festival will take place May 20, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and May 21, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. in the heart of downtown East Lansing on Albert Avenue/Division near the Marriott hotel. This Michigan festival will feature live music both days, great food, artist demonstrations and children's activities. Super fun Michigan festival in 2023!

Genesee County Fair, August 21-27, 2023,  6130 E. Mt Morris, Mt. Morris MI. Check out local exhibitors, monster trucks, demolition derby and so much more!

Gladwin County Fair - July 10 - 15, 2023, 401 S State St., Gladwin, Gladwin MI. The first Gladwin County Fair was held in 1909!

Grand Haven Art Fair and Festival - June 23 - June 25, 2023. 12 pm -5 pm on Friday, 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday & Sunday. Kids Activities, Music, Food. The Grand Haven Art Festival invites nearly 100 artists from across the country to transform Washington Avenue (Central Park) into a chic, outdoor, art gallery. Gratiot County Fair, July 29-Aug 5, 2023, 701 S Lincoln Ave, Alma MI. A fantastic fair and carnival for the youth in the community!

Hillsdale County Fair, (Hillsdale fairgrounds), Sept 24- September 30, 2023, 115 S. Broad St., Hillsdale, MI

Houghton County Fair, August 24-27, 2023, Houghton County Fairgrounds, 1500 Birch St  Hancock, MI. Poultry, rabbit and goat shows, Motocross and more! This is one of our favorite upper peninsula Michigan Fairs!

Hudsonville Fair - August 21 - 26, 2023, 5235 Park Ave, Hudsonville, MI. The Chicago World Fair inspired the start in 1933 of the Hudsonville Fair. 

Huron Community Fair, July 30, 2023-August 5, 2023, 155 Fair St, Bad Axe, Michigan. Good ole' fashion fun for the whole family! Farm animals, shows, midway and carnival food! What's not to love?!

Ingham County Fair - July 31-August 5, 2023, 700 E Ash Street, Mason, MI. This fun Michigan event involves families from all over the county from Lansing to Stockbridge.  Youth livestock, horse and still life shows, rides, games and amazing fair food to be enjoyed by all!  Oooh and see monster trucks and the demolition derby!

Ionia Free Fair - July 13-22, 2023, "10 Best Days of Summer", 317 S Dexter, Ionia, MI.  This Ionia Free Fair has incredible entertainment, midway fun, food and lots of barns to visit! See cute animals! Horse show, off-road derby, Night of Destruction, car shows, SJO Motorcross and rodeo! One of our favorite Michigan fairs as there are so many things to see and do!

Iosco County Fair - July 24 – July 29, 2023. 3600 N M-65 Hale, MI 48739, Come to the fair for children's activities, entertainment, parade, food, merchandise vendors, livestock and agricultural competitions, grandstand events, and much more!

Iron County Fair - August 10-13, 2023, 720 W Franklin Street, Iron River, MI. Don't miss Demolition Derby night! The fairgrounds is home to the Iron County Fair and the Upper Peninsula Championship Rodeo. The Iron County Fair has been running since 1896. So many things to do!

Isabella County Youth & Farm Fair, July 22 -30, 2023, 500 N Mission Rd, Mt Pleasant. Come out for the Hometown Showdown, Super Kicker Rodeo, Motocross, Small Animal Auction in Livestock Arena and so much more! Oh, and you can camp! 

Jackson County Fair Michigan - August 6-12, 2023, 200 W Ganson St, Jackson, MI at Keeley Park. This year: Collective Soul, Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy. Come out and enjoy a day or two at the fair filled fun games, exciting rides, livestock, events, and tasty carnival food!​The Jackson County Fair has something for everyone in the family.​ Let's rock your summer in Pure Michigan by attending a fun-filled community fair!

Kalamazoo County Fair - August 8-12, 2023, 2900 Lake St, Kalamazoo  fairgrounds. This is one of our favorite Michigan Fairs!

Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Fair - Friday, June 2, 2023, Noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 3, 2023,  9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Bronson Park, Kalamazoo, MI. The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Fair features jewelry, photography, sculpture, painting, ceramics, glass, fiber, leather, wood, and more all handcrafted by over 125 jury-selected fine artists from across Michigan and the country.  The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts Fair is the second longest-running arts fair in the country.

Kalkaska County Agricultural Fair - August 2-5, 2023, 1905 Fairground Dr, Kalkaska MI

Kent County Youth Fair - July 31, August 5, 2023.  225 S Hudson, Lowell, MI. Carnival rides, auction, Kids Day!

Lapeer Days Festival, August 18, 19, 20, 2023. Soap box derby, helicopter rides, arts and crafts show, music, parade, car show and tons more! You will love this August Michigan festival!

Lake Odessa Fair, June 21-25, 2023. 1640 Fourth Ave, Clarksville, MI. Midway, Grand Parade, Beer Barn, Escape Room, Draft Horse Pulls and so much more!

Lenawee County Fair - July 23-29, 2023, 602 N Dean St., Adrian, MI. See a demolition derby, animal judging, rodeo, carnival rides, queen pagent, car show, tractor show and so much more at the Lenawee County Fair!

Lake Orion Flower and Art Fair - May 19-20, 2023, See the fantastic range of flower vendors, DIY projects, live music, vendors selling homemade items and beer garden. Orion Art Center

Lakeshore Art Festival (Muskegon Art Fair)  - Saturday, June 24, 2023 & Sunday, June 25, 2023 in Downtown Muskegon, Michigan. Hours are 9 am - 5:00 pm both days.

Ludington: West Shore Art Fair, July 1-2, 2023. Located at Rotary Park, 100 N. Harrison St., Ludington, MI. The WSAF has been known as on the top fine art fairs in the State of Michigan over the last 50-plus years as well as being recognized as one of Sunshine Artist Magazine’s 200 Best Fine Art and Fine Craft Fairs over the last few years.

The West Shore Art Fair features fine art categories including clay, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metals, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking and wood.

Ludington Art Fair - Gold Coast Artisan Fair, August 12-13, 2023 at Rotary Park, 100 N. Harrison St., Ludington, MI. The Gold Coast Artisan Fair occurs Saturday from 10am-5pm, and Sunday from 10am-4pm. See over 170 vendors selling handmade items, jewelry, photographs, paintings, and more. This is one of our favorite Michigan Fairs!

Manistee County FairAugust 15 - 19, 2023 at the Manistee County Fairgrounds on 1st Street in Onekama Michigan, right off M-22. Games, vendors, animals, barrel races, lumberjack show, demolition derby and more!

Mason County Fairgrounds (Ludington Fair) - August 8-12, 2023. Located at 5302 W US-10, Ludington, MI 49431. Awesome Western Michigan Fair!

Michigan State Fair - August 31-September 4, 2023, Labor Day Weekend, Baking contest, agriculture, beer garden, dog performances, horse events, livestock, live music, concerts, monster trucks, and so much more!  One of our favorite Michigan Fairs and carnivals!  The Michigan State Fair is located at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan, 46100 Grand River Avenue, between Novi and Beck Roads in Novi, MI. 

How much does it cost to go to the State Fair in Michigan? Ultimate Admission is $42.00 and includes Fair Admission, Unlimited Carnival Rides and Circus Performances

​Fair Admission - $10.00, Includes admission into the Fair only --- No carnival rides or circus performances.

Michigan Antique & Collectible Festivals (Midland) - June 3 and 4, 2023 and September 23-24, 2023, 6905 Eastman Ave, Midland, MI.  We adore this festival and go every year!  About a thousand antique dealers setup at the Midland County Fairgrounds offering vintage goods, antiques, collectibles & so much more. I love the Shabby experience (furniture and items painted/updated to shabby chic cool!), Coins, Memorabilia. Plus this festival is Michigan’s largest swap meet one of Michigan’s longest running Car Shows! Saturday 8am – 6pm and Sunday 9am – 4pm.  Early Bird buyers are welcome on Fridays before the shows from 10am – 5pm – Early Admission is $15 per person$10 admission per person – Parking is always free! 

What are the dates for the Midland Antique Festival? June 3 and 4, 2023 and September 23-24, 2023

What time does the Midland Antique Festival start? Saturday 8am – 6pm and Sunday 9am – 4pm.  Early Bird buyers are welcome on Fridays before the shows from 10am – 5pm – Early Admission is $15 per person$10 admission per person – Parking is always free!

Michigan Antique & Collectible Festivals (Davisburg) - May 6-7, 2023 and October 7-8, 2023. Springfield Oaks County Park, 12451 Andersonville Rd. Davisburg, MI 48350. The festival will be open from 8am-6pm on Saturdays and 9am-4pm on Sundays. Admission is $10 per person, with children 11 and under admitted for free. There is free parking available on site.

Michigan Renaissance Festival, Holly Michigan.  Weekends & Labor Day • 10 am - 7 pm, Aug. 19, 2023 - October 1, 2023. Located at 12600 Dixie Hwy., Holly, MI.  This is one heck of a great event, we have gone many times! One of our favorite Michigan fairs! 

Michigan Tech Career Fair - Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 12—5 p.m.  (Eastern) at the Student Development Complex (SDC).  One of the largest in the country, bringing more than 400 companies and 2,000 recruiters to campus each year. 

Midland County Fair - How long is the Midland Fair open? August 13-19 2023, 6905 Eastman Ave, Midland, MI Free admission, $8 parking. One of our favorite Michigan fairs! 

Milan Mi Fair- June 1-3 2023, Wilson Park, 89 Wabash St, Milan, MI 48160. Enjoy carnival rides, marketplace, fireworks, parade, food and fun at the Milan MI Fair!

Monroe County Fair -July 30-August 5, 2023, 3775 S Custer Rd, Monroe, MI, 48161. See 

Montmorency County 4-H Fair - July 25 - July 29, 2023, 13110 M-33 North, Atlanta, MI 49709. Tons of events including comedy shows, kidz zone, livestock judging, horse pull, carnival and fun!

Munger Potato Festival 2023 -  Thursday July 27 - Sunday July 30, 2023, 48 E Munger Rd, Munger, MI 48747.  The Munger Potato Festival is such a good  time with USA Demolition Derby officiating Mungers' Figure 8 and Demo Derby. 5k Spud Run, Cornhole Tournament, parade, bands.

Newaygo County Agricultural Fair - August 5-12, 2023, 815 S Stewart, Fremont, MI 49412. Truck pull, bike parade, animals and more!

Northern District Fair - August 14-19, 2023, 221 E. 13th Street, Cadillac, MI 49601. Rodeo, midway games and fun, demolition derby, and more fun events! Super fun Michigan fairs! 

Northwestern Michigan Fair - August 6-12, 2023, 3606 Blair Town Hall Rd, Traverse City, MI 49685

Oakland County Fair, July 7-16, 2023. This Davisburg fair is a popular 4h fair in Oakland County.  Springfield Oaks County Park, 12451 Andersonville Rd., Davisburg, MI 48350

Oceana County Fair- August 16 to 19, 2023 – Carnival and August 22 to 26, 2023 – Fair. 152nd Oceana County Fair Days, 1025 S State St, Hart, MI 49420. The Oceana County Fair is the longest running county fair in the state of Michigan. It is a 5-day event featuring food, fun, and exciting events! The fair is a great way to finish your summer in Oceana County.

Ogemaw County Fair - (Ogemaw county fairgrounds) - August 13-20, 2023. 2300 Rifle River Trail, West Branch. What week is the Ogemaw County fair?  The 3rd week of August!

Osceola County Fair- July 22 - July  29, 2023,  4-H FFA Fair, 101 Recreation Ave, Evart, MI. Tractor Pull, Horse Pull, Midway, Food! Free admission and parking! Evart MI

Otsego County Fair - August 20-26, 2023, 895 N Center St, Gaylord, Michigan. Check out this fun Michigan carnival and fair!

Ottawa County Fair - July 24-29, 2023, 1286 Ottawa Beach Rd, Holland

Pentwater Arts & Crafts Fairs - July 8, 2023. Pentwater Village Green, 327 S Hancock St. Pentwater, MI. 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Saginaw County Fair - August 1-5, 2023, 11350 W Peet Rd, Chesaning. The tradition of family fun continues at the 110th annual Saginaw County Fair. Last year over 30,000 people attended this fantastic Michigan fair!

Saline Community Fair -  Wed, August 30 – Sun, Sep 3, 2023. 5055 Saline-Ann Arbor Rd, Ann Arbor, MI

Sterlingfest: Art and Music Fair - carnival, food vendor, fun!  Celebrating the performing, visual and culinary arts. July 27-29, 2023. Located at Sterling Heights' City Center (Dodge Park & Utica Roads), Sterling Heights, MI

St Clair Art Fair and Jazz Festival - Saturday, August 19, 2023 - August 20, 2023. The St. Clair Art Fair is one of the oldest art fairs on the east side of Michigan!  Come out to the see the work of over 100 visual artists along one of the largest freshwater boardwalks in the world! Enjoy paintings, photography, sculpture, woodwork, pottery, jewelry and more in Palmer Park along the St. Clair River. Such a fun June Michigan event! Palmer Park - Boardwalk St. Clair, N. Shiawassee County Fair - August 6-12, 2023, 2900 East Hibbard Road, Corunna, MI. Carnival, auction, draft horse, grandstand events, livestock sales, FUN!

St Clair County - July 17-22, 2023,  4-H & Youth Fair 8254 County Park Dr, Goodells. (St. Clair County Fair future dates, July 15-20, 2024 and July 14-19, 2025)

St. Joseph County Grange Fair - Sept 17-23, 2023, 316 E Charlotte, Centreville, MI. Truck pulls, rodeo, demolition derby and concerts!

Tuscola County Fair - July 23-29, 2023, 188 Park Drive, Caro, Michigan. Carnival rides, grand stand events, fun!

Upper Peninsula State Fair - August 14-20, 2023, 2401 12th Ave North, Escanaba. The UP State Fair is a much anticipated event with grand stand events, concerts and midway fun!

Washtenaw County 4-H Youth Show - Youth Show Dates are July 23-29, 2023.  5055 Saline-Ann Arbor Rd, Ann Arbor, MI

Wayne County Fair - July 31 - August 5, 2023, 10871 Quirk Rd, Belleville, Michigan. Rides start August 1st.

Wyandotte Street Fair - July 12-15, 2023. The Wyandotte Street Art Fair is now one of the largest and best attended fairs in the entire State of Michigan! What time does the Wyandotte Street Fair open?  10 AM to 9 PM daily.

Renaissance Fairs Michigan


The Michigan Renaissance Festival in Holly, Mi draws over 250,000 people! Did you know it began in 1979?!  

Over 150 artisans sell everything from handmade leather bustier tops to head bands!  We love this festival and have attended several times.  We love walking around eating huge drumsticks and pickles from a barrel!

The festival marketplace is a great place to buy handcrafted goods and interact with memorable characters.  See live jousting and nosh on food fit for a king or queen!
