Merry Christmas, my friends!  If you love seeing popular characters, festive light shows, professional carolers, twinkling light displays, roaring firepits and trying a variety of beers you will love the Olde World Canterbury Village Holiday Stroll in Lake Orion! Add this December event to your Michigan things to do list!

This outdoor event in Southeast Michigan is perfect for kids and adults alike!

  • By the way, it's only about 25 minutes to see more lights at HollyDazzle (Michigan Renaissance Festival!).  We did both in one night!



Where and When is the Olde World Canterbury Village Christmas Holiday Stroll? Most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in December

Where: Canterbury Village – Lake Orion, 2359 Joslyn Ct, Orion Twp, MI 48360. 

Canterbury Village is located in southeast Michigan, about 37 miles north of Detroit.

When: November 22, 24-26, 2023 and December 1-3, 8-10, 15-17, 21-23, 2023

So bundle the kids up warmly, as there are so many things to do in this outdoor wintery wonderland in Metro Detroit!

  • Oh, and this Christmas season, be sure to visit with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus! They were so friendly...or should I say jolly!

Yes! Dogs are welcome to walk around Canterbury Village outside, including during events, as long as they are on leashes.

There are lots of fun live classic characters to encounter along your Christmas lights walk at Canterbury Village so have your cameras ready! I definitely had to have my photo with Mini Mouse, how could you not?!

Canterbury Village is a designated historic landmark in the State of Michigan! The property extends over 21 acres on what used to be the old Scripps Farm.

It's easy to get into the spirit of Christmas during the Canterbury Village Holiday Stroll!  There are several cute shops open along your wintery walk and lots of shops to find gifts and apparel in this quaint village.


See the 7-minute Amazing Light Show in a True Holiday Setting!

This family-friendly Christmas event in Lake Orion is located outside amongst a million twinkling lights! Be sure to see the lovely 7-minute light show choreographed to classic holiday songs! The sounds of professional carolers can be heard throughout the village. 


Can You Get Photos With Santa?


Heck yeah! My friend Nikki and I loved it! Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus were so friendly!  

Oh, and be sure to bring your letter to Santa Claus and drop it in his mailbox for special delivery directly to the big man and his very busy elves!


Sip Hot Chocolate While Enjoying the Festive Lights of Canterbury Village's Winter Wonderland!

At every turn, there is a new delight!  So take your time, see all the lights and get into the holiday spirit!


Tickets and Parking in This Quaint Village!

Purchase your Canterbury Village Christmas tickets on their website prior to attending the event. Parking is $5 and will be charged during initial ticket purchase. (Santa says it's not free at the North Pole either!)  We were pleased with the HUGE paved parking lot so there are plenty of places for everyone.

Children under 2, military and veterans are FREE.


Enjoy Hard Ciders at the C-Pub Amongst the Sounds of Christmas Carols


We love stopping by the C-Pub's outdoor patio to warm up! The pub offers beer, hard ciders, wine, and cocktails to enjoy while cozying up to a firepit. Can't beat sipping a great hard cider while listening to the melodic sounds of Christmas carols!
