Ahh, bed and breakfasts...pure Michigan vacation luxury! When I say, "The Carriage House at the Harbor has it all," I'm not kidding! This lovely Michigan B and B (located in Southwest MI) is a fantastic Michigan getaway in the spring, summer, fall and winter.
Plus, Kelly Schloss, the Innkeeper at the Carriage House at the Harbor, is so kind and thoughtful. She pays attention to details and wants everyone to have a wonderful stay.

Allow me paint a picture for you...
After enjoying a lovely day at the South Haven beach, South Haven lighthouse or downtown shopping, you stroll hand-in-hand with your loved one back to the cozy Carriage House at the Harbor.
You are giddy with anticipation as your private in-room cozy fireplace, warm swirling whirlpool bath, and private balcony with comfortable rockers overlooking the sparkling harbor awaits.
Upon entering your room at this lovely South Haven bed and breakfast, marvel at the luxurious bedding, lovely furniture and beautiful bathroom.
You draw a warm bath, add some bubbles and sit back with a bottle of wine or champagne to relax. There is a corkscrew in the kitchen area if you forgot to bring one with your bottle of champagne. Be sure to enjoy the super soft white bathrobes located in the closet, I sure did!
After relaxing a bit in your gorgeous South Haven Bed and Breakfast room, you are drawn to the sitting room where homemade cookies (mmm oatmeal chocolate chip) and freshly popped popcorn in cute individual bags are irresistible.
You might find amusing, quirky and fun photos along the walls in the hallways and in your room. I loved this one in particular.
Then, take your wine, snacks (or dinner, in our case!) out onto your private balcony to watch the boats passing in the marina. By now you can see why this is a premier Michigan B and B, right?
Or you might wish to enjoy time around the firepit as the sun sets with your fellow housemates! I mean the views are incredible, so why not?
The morning sunrises are exquisite!
Fast forwarding to the following morning...After a nice warm shower, slowly sip a hot mug of coffee on your balcony as you watch the sunrise over the South Haven Harbor. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the early morning as you slowly rock in your chair while feeling the warm early morning sun caress your face.
You smile at the sounds of the nearby ducks as they honk and "laugh" in the marina below your balcony.
Your stomach grumbles so you wander to the gorgeous dining room overlooking the South Haven Municipal Marina North and enjoy an elegant gourmet breakfast. Isn't this dining room elegant?
Chris and I were blown away by the beauty of our breakfasts! I am all about gorgeous presentation and high quality meals and this certainly didn't disappoint! The Inn always uses fresh ingredients prepared from scratch, in-house. Just let them know a week ahead of time if you have dietary allergies and restrictions like gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan.
Ahhh, what a glorious weekend!
- After such a wonderful stay, you can't help yourself as you book another Michigan getaway to enjoy Michigan's fall color tour and Christmas vacation.
Romantic Michigan B and B: Adults Only
This romantic Michigan B and B is an adults only Inn so you are guaranteed not to hear screaming and running kids when you are trying to relax and spend time with your loved one. We were amazed how respectful everyone was during our stay. There were no slamming doors, loud voices or obnoxious guests.
- Everyone was quiet and respected the other guests as we were all happy to be on vacation, resting, healing and reconnecting.

Kelly Schloss, the Innkeeper, says the Carriage House at the Harbor is an absolute blast for families with kids when the entire house is reserved. With twelve guest rooms, a super fun game room, snacks, and two living room gathering areas, there's fun and room for everyone!
The Carriage House is Magical At Christmas
Kelly Schloss, the Innkeeper at Carriage House at the Harbor, just gushes with pride and excitement as she told Chris and I all about this lovely Michigan B and B at Christmas.
She says the Inn transforms into a Christmas wonderland with twinkling lights, holiday decorations and a sprinkle of magic! Kelly says every room is adorned with a Christmas tree so you can't help but get into the Christmas spirit!
Chris and I hope to return to enjoy the beauty for ourselves this holiday season.
