Where are Petoskey Stones Found?

Do we just wander the beaches in Petoskey? I would like to find some and wondered if you have some tips.

Answer

Hi Or,

Sometimes you can have good luck searching further up on the beach if you are in a popular/tourist area. It's helpful to bring a bucket or squirt bottle if the rocks are dry to see them better.

I recommend Fisherman's Island State Park, located at 16480 Bells Bay Rd, Charlevoix, MI, as friends have had luck finding Michigan's Petoskey stones here.

Also try Petoskey State Park. Rock hunters love this state park located between Petoskey and Harbor Springs off Highway M-119.

I have some other ideas here:

Good luck in your search!
