How Do You Make Traveling Fun?

by Tammy

Traveling seems to stress me out! How can I make it fun for the whole family?

Answer

Hi Tammy,

Oh I get it, travel can definitely be stressful! FOR ME, to make travel fun is all about preplanning.

1. I like to have my hotels booked way ahead of time so they can be paid off before I go, so that way I have more money while on vacation. It feels good to not have that hanging over my head.
2. I research the destination ahead of time so I know how much venues cost: Example: A museum I want to visit was shockingly expensive $50 for 2 people. But now I know and can budget for that.
3. I like to have a grocery list ready (can do it on the plane!) so we can get groceries quickly on the day we arrive.
4. I check Groupon before I go. You might be able to get that museum for 1/2 price, so it's worth checking early and often.
5. Have a few ideas ready of what you would like to do but don't plan every moment. Leave the afternoons open for ice cream, hiking, or whatever you just drove by that looks cool.
