Will you be in Metro Detroit or the Motor City this Cinco de Mayo?  This year, on May 5, 2024, Detroit will host a popular Cinco de Mayo parade, several fiestas, a 5k fun run, and block parties! Our goal is to give you ideas of things to do so you can remain energized, happy and fulfilled while living, traveling and exploring Michigan!

Detroit 2024 59th Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade and Fiesta

Cinco de Mayo Parade and Festival

The Mexican Patriotic Committee of Metropolitan Detroit is throwing a 59th Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade.

2024's theme is "La Historia de Southwest Detroit." The Mexican Patriotic Committee of Metropolitan Detroit stated the theme, "embraces all the beautiful cultures from the many Latin American countries that create the rich fabric of our community."

When: Sunday, May 5, 2024, Parade begins at noon

  • Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5, 2024, 12 pm-8 pm

Where: The 3-mile parade route will start from Woodmere Street and will travel east along Vernor Hwy and concluding at W. Grand Blvd.

Plan to enjoy a fun cultural and musical fiesta located at Bagley and 21st Streets on Saturday & Sunday. Fiesta!


2024 Cinco De Mayo Block Party

The Cinco De Mayo Block Party is held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at The Annex, Love and Tequila, and Brass Rail. 3 venues for 1 ticket!

When: Sunday, May 5, 2024. 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Where: Clark Park, Porter St, Detroit, MI 48209

5K Fun Run is 10:00am - 2pm

  • Route: 3 laps around the perimeter of Clark Park. You can run, walk, bring your kids and your dog! 
  • Packet pickup: Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the east side of Clark Park

Margarita Fest (Cinco De Mayo)

When: Sunday, May 5, 2024, 12 pm - 7 pm

Where: 166 Oak Street, Wyandotte, Michigan Located in the parking lot across from W Lofts.

The 1st Annual Margarita competition with Your Generation performing live. Enjoy  food, drinks, live music and a darn good time.

Chris and I love celebrating Cinco De Mayo! One year, my friends and I went to Don Pablo's and we had the best time with margaritas, chips and dip, and tacos! I even wore a colorful sombrero....good times for sure.
