Sunflowers have always been my “thang”...
I grew up a country girl, married an even countrier boy. Together we have 4 somewhat country babies.
After the passing of an uncle and my grandparents and a long and emotional rollercoaster ride my husband and I were able to purchase land that has and will forever remain in our family. The land where my father was born and raised with his brothers and sisters, the land that holds countless memories for so many, the land that our children’s children will know and be proud to represent.
Our first year, we planted apple, cherry, peach trees, a pumpkin patch and 500 Christmas trees.
This year we added goji berries, strawberries, paw paw trees and you guessed it... sunflowers!
Over an acre of sunflowers are sitting in a field off of a dirt road, across from the farmhouse that my aunts and uncles, grandparents and dad grew up in, the yard they played, learned and worked in. The land that we are now thank them every day for.
