Each year, it's a holiday tradition for Chris and I to wander hand-in-hand while enjoying the incredible Rochester Michigan Christmas lights. Their Big Bright Light Show is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit!
- The buildings and storefronts in downtown Rochester will be blanketed with more than 1 million sparkling holiday lights the week of Thanksgiving! It's absolutely breathtaking!
- It's a lot of work to make downtown Rochester sparkle! It takes a couple crews about eights weeks, beginning in October, to install all the lights on the storefronts along Main Street.

When is Rochester's The Big Bright Light Show in Michigan?
The Rochester Christmas lights come on November 20, 2023 - January 7, 2024
The lights will come on every night at 5:00 pm to midnight during this time. Most stores are open Monday - Saturday, until 9 pm. Friday and Saturday nights are super busy, so if you like less crowds, try to visit during the week!

Lagniappe 2023 - Kick off for the Big Bright Light Show in Rochester, MI on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm as merchants offer Lagniappe (Creole for “a little something extra”) as a thank you for support throughout the year.
Then get ready for some hometown fun: The Big Bright Light Show officially light-ups the night sky at 7:00 pm. This marks the beginning of the massive holiday display of lights! Holiday activities include carols at 6:00 pm and a chance for the kids to share their Christmas lists during a special appearance from Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and some of the reindeer at 7:15 – 9:00 pm. Don't forget to get some selfies in front of millions of points of glimmering lights all along Main Street!

The streets are simply buzzing with people and holiday cheer. It's fun to window shop, get some hot chocolate to stay warm and wander down Main Street!
