I'm absolutely obsessed with visiting outdoor winter Christmas markets each December! And I'm not the only one...it’s a popular pure Michigan holiday tradition for so many holiday shoppers in Michigan.
These Michigan Christmas Markets are a great place to shop local where you can find Michigan-themed gifts, handmade artisan gifts and even family-friendly experiences like horse-drawn carriage rides, seeing Santa and riding Christmas trains.
You can't beat the festival atmosphere, rosy cheeked faces, hot mulled wine held with warm mittens, and handmade meaningful gifts and toys for the holidays! I was first introduced to these festive holiday markets in Chicago and now I'm hooked!

Midland Center hosts a yearly Holiday Art Fair held indoors at Midland Center for the Arts. The Center is transformed into a holiday festival with about 40 artists' booths. Enjoy local entertainment, faculty demonstrations, and free craft activities for kids.

One of the more popular Christmas markets is this delightful outdoor European-style market with holiday gift items, delicious food and artisan demonstrations located in Holland, Michigan. “Kerstmarkt” in the Dutch language means “Christmas market.” Traditionally, markets like these pop up all over the Netherlands during the Christmas season. It's a great venue for local artisans and specialty shops to sell their wares while shoppers can enjoy food, drink and entertainment.
Visitors can wander the market stalls searching for treats, chocolates, gifts for family and friends, and apparel, home decor and so much more!
