I'm absolutely obsessed with visiting outdoor winter Christmas markets each December! You can't beat the festival atmosphere, rosy cheeked faces, hot muled wine held with warm mittens, and handmade meaningful gifts and toys for the holidays! I was first introduced to these festive holiday markets in Chicago and now I'm hooked!
Below are several popular Michigan Christmas Markets that will fill your heart with Christmas cheer! Perfect for gift shopping, home decor or just making yourself happy (who doesn't love spiced wine, cute ornaments, Christmas music?!)
1. Christmas Market Dutch Winterfest - Holland Michigan
What: Christmas Market Dutch Winterfest
When: November 19, November 25, November 26, November 29, December 3, December 4, December 9, December 10, 2022.
Where: Kerstmarkt is located at the 8th Street Market Place in front of the Civic Center (8th Street Marketplace and Pine Avenue) in Holland - Ottawa, MI.
One of the more popular Christmas markets is this delightful outdoor European-style market with holiday gift items, delicious food and artisan demonstrations located in Holland, Michigan. “Kerstmarkt” in the Dutch language means “Christmas market.” Traditionally, markets like these pop up all over the Netherlands during the Christmas season. It's a great venue for local artisans and specialty shops to sell their wares while shoppers can enjoy food, drink and entertainment.
Visitors can wander the market stalls searching for treats, chocolates, gifts for family and friends, and apparel, home decor and so much more!
This lovely November Michigan festival is open for three weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Incredible Michigan Christmas markets!

Warm up and relax inside Cadillac Lodge, a large heated tent filled with games, leather sofas, and up-north ski lodge amenities. There will be a festive menu too. Oh, and you can find your perfect Christmas tree at the Christmas Tree Farm in Capitol Park.
- Holiday horse-drawn carriage rides leaving from Campus Martius are a magical way to tour downtown. Rides are offered Fridays and Saturdays Nov. 16 through Dec. 22 from 6 p.m. to midnight.
